Spirit Sippers: Porcelain Pottery
Handcrafted from premium Kota Porcelain by KY Mud Works, these pieces are thrown and fired at home.
Each piece is bisque fired, then glazed and fired for the second time with luminous celadon glazes that pool and break beautifully over texture. The soft green tones range from pale mint to deep seafoam, with subtle variations and gentle crazing that highlight the handmade quality.
These pieces are dishwasher safe and microwave safe, making them perfect for daily use while still serving as elegant display items. The durable construction holds up well to regular household use, though hand-washing is recommended to preserve the beauty of the glaze over time.
Each cup measures approximately 3 × 3 inches or smaller. Designed specifically for bourbon sipping, these small vessels offer the ideal hand feel and aroma-enhancing shape for enjoying whiskey and other fine spirits.
Kota Porcelain Celadon Cup – A beautiful small sipping mug in a soft, glossy apple-green celadon glaze. This piece highlights the elegant, fluid form with a gentle waist and comfortable handle. Fired to cone 6 on Kota porcelain, it has a smooth, translucent quality with subtle variations in the glaze that catch the light beautifully. Stamped on the base with the maker’s mark.
Perfect for espresso, tea, or small pour-overs. One-of-a-kind studio piece.
This piece has a claybody crack at the base of the handle. It will not affect the durability and still food safe.
Kota Porcelain Ultra Turquoise & Tidal Wave Cup – A striking one-of-a-kind mug featuring a creamy off-white base with vibrant ultra-turquoise speckles and bold tidal wave glaze drips that cascade down the handle and body. The reactive glazes create a dynamic, ocean-inspired surface with beautiful movement and glossy highlights.
This piece has the same comfortable waisted silhouette and smooth hand-feel as the celadon cup, making it a joy to hold. Fired to cone 6 on Kota porcelain for durability and a bright, translucent quality.
Perfect for morning coffee, tea, or as a standout desk companion
This cup has exceptional crazing on the inside. The fine crackle pattern is stable and does not affect the strength or food safety of the piece. Occasional ‘ting’ sounds are normal as the glaze adjusts to temperature changes.
